2017 International Conference on Mathematical Methods & Computational Techniques in Science & Engineering

1. INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON RECONSTRUCTION AND EXTRAPOLATION OF N-DIMENSIONAL DATA

Chairman: Prof. Dariusz Jacek Jakobczak,
Department of Electronics and Computer Science,
Koszalin University of Technology, Sniadeckich 2, 75-453 Koszalin, Poland
e-mail: dariusz.jakobczak@tu.koszalin.pl
AIM: Reconstruction and extrapolation of multi-dimensional data represents the subject that arising in many branches of mathematics, economics and computer science. Such a modeling connects pure mathematics with applied sciences. Numerical methods similarly are situated on the border between pure mathematics and applied sciences. Our life and work are impossible without planning, time-tabling, scheduling, decision making, optimization, simulation, data analysis, risk analysis and process modeling.

TOPICS:
1. Data interpolation with applications.
2. Data extrapolation - support in planning and decision making.
3. Reconstruction of information.
4. Data restoration.
5. Probabilistic interpolation and extrapolation.
6. Modeling of processes.
7. Data simulation.
8. Mathematical modeling.

2. INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON COMPUTATIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND DEEP LEARNING

Chairman: Prof. Tolga Ensari
Computer Engineering, Istanbul University
Istanbul, Turkey, ensari@istanbul.edu.tr

AIM: Computational intelligence (CI) is one of the problem solving method by nature-inspired computational methodologies. Deep Learning (DL) is most studied method in machine learning last 5 years which has a deep graph with multiple processing layers. Discarding difficulties in mathematical approximations and uncertainties from engineering problems,CI and DL offer and construct some new approaches and techniques to solve hard problems. This symposium will contribute new perspective on computer science research area. The purpose is gathering engineers, academicians, industrial professionals and their valuable studies on CI. We believe that many new approaches and methods will contribute on theory and application of CI and DL. Research topics of interests include, but are not limited to:

3. ENERGY-EFFICIENCY IN INTERNET PROTOCOL STACK

Chairman: Prof. Korhan Cengiz
Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering
Trakya University, Edirne, Turkey, korhancengiz@trakya.edu.tr

AIM: The reduction of energy consumption has become a key research area for the information and communication technology (ICT) industry, due to economical, environmental, and marketing reasons. While the environmental direction aims at minimization of greenhouse gas emissions by enforcing the usage of renewable energy in the ICT industry, economical and marketing directions lead researchers to design low-power components or develop and enhance energy-saving protocols without an impact on the level of the performance. With the steady increase in the cost of energy, the expanding number of energy-hungry components and widespread usage of ICT industry, most of the protocols that have become an integral part of our lives but are yet developed without any energy constraints in mind in the past will need to be restructured or developed again. For this reason, researchers are studying on all layers of the Internet protocol stack to develop energy-efficient protocols and algorithms. This session aims to present recent approaches for energy efficiency studies for each layer in the Internet protocol stack from the physical layer to the application layer.

TOPICS:
1- Energy-Efficiency in Physical Layer
2- Energy-Efficiency in Data Link Layer
3- Energy-Efficiency in Network Layer
4- Energy-Efficiency in Transport Layer
5- Energy-Efficiency in Session Layer
6- Energy-Efficiency in Presentation Layer
7- Energy-Efficiency in Application Layer

4.INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON ALGEBRAIC METHODS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS

Fulufhelo Ratshisindi University of Limpopo, Limpopo Province, South Africa

Aim:
Algebraic Methods have several applications. However some methods perform better for certain applications than other methods. The symposia aim to showcase algebraic methods and where they are most efficiently applicable for practical usage.

Topics:
-Linear Algebra
-Multi-linear Algebra
-Computational Linear Algebra
-Discrete Algebra
-Polynomials

5.INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON MODELLING AND MODELS ANALYSIS

Fulufhelo Ratshisindi University of Limpopo, Limpopo Province, South Africa

Aim:
Models are helpful in making predictions that are useful in making decisions. The bigger the data used when building models, the more accurate the predictions the model can make. The aim of the symposia is to build models. Moreover, the nature and the assumptions of the models need scrutiny before they are used to make prediction and used on making decisions. Researchers are constantly building models but they often pay little attention to the nature, conditions, and the assumptions they make when building such models.

Topics:
-Modelling Simulation
-Medical Modelling
-Environmental Modelling
-Option Pricing and Asset Pricing Models
-Conflict Modelling

6.INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING EDUCATION

Fulufhelo Ratshisindi University of Limpopo, Limpopo Province, Suth Africa

Aim:
With continuous advances in technology, teaching has adopted new methods. Most of these methods are technological. The symposia aim to investigate the advantages and disadvantages of technological advancement in teaching and learning in contemporary times. What is being lost, if any, by using technology instead of traditional teaching methods? What are the benefits of using technology to transfer knowledge? Are there demerits of transferring knowledge using technological methods? The symposia aim to check the score card of the advances in technology and their impact on science and engineering education.

Topics:
-Science Education
-Engineering Education
-Education Products
-Tertiary Education
-Thinking Industry and Knowledge Production
